Movie night! I don't have much time for movies with a little one, but movie night used to be one of my favorite things to do. This year I wanted to focus on bringing back some of the things I enjoyed before the little one. For me, the best thing for me is to try to kill two birds with one stone. The only problem is that means no movies with subtitles… oh well.

Usually, I choose a task like doing my hair (two strand twist), ironing, folding clothes, painting, etc. Tonight I decided I wanted to do something creative… plus I had a wall screaming out for art. My color palette was inspired by my living room colors and a painting I painted last year.

Note: All my yarn came from Joann Fabric. I chose a wool yarn in the colors, Yellow, Orange, Gray and one pack of wooden rod dowels.

The first thing is to cut your yarn all the same length before you start. That way you can get busy working instead of cutting. Use a piece of cardboard or a ruler to get a finished size. All of my yarn was cut to 44". When looped onto the dowel, my finished size was 22" long.

Follow those steps and repeat; alternate colors or create your own design. When it was complete, I used the neutral color of yarn to create the wall hang and to keep ends from coming loose. You can use a glue gun on the ends to secure yarn from sliding off the rod. I used my scissors to cut the yarn. You can make it even, or cut a sharp 15 or 45-degree angle. I decided to do a straight stair step cut.
