I don't wear a lot of makeup, but when I do, I really want to make sure what I put on my face is as natural as I can get it. Thank goodness for the Think Dirty App. With it, I can focus on having clean makeup in my makeup bag. I always check new products that I want to try before buying them. Makeup is not cheap, and I’d rather not waste time with returns.
So far, I like keeping it simple: primer, foundation, setting/face powder, eyeliner, and of course a pop of color on the lips (I always go for pink!). Forget the eyebrows, I’ll end up wiping them away before I leave the house.
Anyway after running out of setting/face powder, one day I had a thought... can I make my own setting/face powder? Why not? So, I headed straight to my favorite DIY stop (Pinterest) and I searched for easy DIY setting powders. I found many posts on this very subject, so I decided to give it a try.
Here is what I used:
Mix the three ingredients, it’s that easy! Mix until you have the consistency and color that works for you. I used a face powder I’d purchased in the past as my guide for color. I did my makeup like normal and used my DIY face powder to set the makeup. Then I took pictures outside, to see if it left a cast or made me look like a ghost.
Once I was happy with the powder I placed it in a container with a tight-fitting lid. I have been using this for 2 months, and so far it is working great! No problems with my skin so far (breakouts or clogged pores), so I plan to keep using it for a few more months and report back.
I am not an herbalist, a doctor or a hair designer. Do your research! Be sure you and your family members are not allergic to any of these ingredients before using this recipe.
